17 monthlyJob LocationCanyon, TexasJob TypeStaffJob DescriptionThe Development Officer IV (Major Gift Officer), under direction, is responsible for identification and personal solicitation of prospective donors.
Develops, coordinates, and maintains comprehensive fundraising programs which includes grant writing.
Works closely with the Assistant VP for Leadership Gifts, volunteers, Board leaders, and other Staff to prepare and coordinate the annual development plans to meet the financial goals of the organization.
Willingness to work evenings & weekends and willing to work as needed.
Extensive travel involved.
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Responsibilities:
Identification, discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of assigned major gift prospects through carefully developed and executed engagement plans.
Assist with the planning and preparation of events and meetings and attendance at events.
Maintains fundraising and information web site and Database System.
Works with the Office of Philanthropy Services to ensure donor gifts are recorded properly and to steward donors.
Works with Communication and Marketing to create promotional materials.
Identifies and helps recruit potential volunteer and board members, and solicits membership renewals.

Necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience.
Obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and qualify and maintain qualification to operate a vehicle within Texas A&M University System guidelines.
Knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a special focus on effective listening.
Strong organizational and motivational skills.
Should be a highly motivated individuals who is a self-starter, an independent thinker, but also a team player.
Goal-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher.
Knowledge of Raisers Edge database All positions are security-sensitive.
