Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalency
Experience:
Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
Ability to use personal computer and office technology (computer, spreadsheets, and database applications Ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner Proficient use of calculator and 10-key Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively in written and verbal correspondence.
Responsibilities:
Assist in initiating contact with vendors to check on supply and equipment availability, invoices, purchase orders, and contracts.
Assist in obtaining and studying comparative prices and quotations.
Assist in purchasing supplies and equipment for the district by competitive bidding, informal quotations, and negotiation following established district criteria and state/federal purchasing rules.
Assist with the preparation of bidding documents, including notice, and instruction to bidders, specifications, and form of proposals.
Work cooperatively with district personnel to determine appropriate specifications, sources, availability, pricing, shipping, and receiving.
Prepare and submit district Purchase Orders to vendors and work professionally with staff to resolve issues that may arise.
