Role Description:
Principle Services Environmental is hiring a Field Environmental Coordinator (SWPPP) to conduct Stormwater Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections in accordance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's (TCEQ) Permit TXR150000The SWPPP Inspector position requires a reliable, honest, self-motivated, and detailed-oriented individualDuties:
The responsibilities of the Field Environmental Coordinator require driving to construction sites throughout the DFW metroplex and surrounding areas and performing SWPPP inspections to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulatory regulationsConstruction projects are generally linear-based projects, however, will include a mix of Commercial, Land Development & Homebuilding projectsAdditional duties are to:
Monitor, record, and report any issues related to stormwater pollution, such as sediment and erosion controls measures, stormwater runoff, and other stormwater pollution preventions Prepare accurate, correct, and timely SWPPP inspection reports Document and report all deficiencies in a timely and professional manor Update the SWPPP using a construction inspection software application Communicate any identified deficiencies to the construction representative or environmental specialist assigned to the project Participate in safety/team meetings Cross-train as needed into other technical service areas as needed, such as Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) compliance; Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent, required BS in Environmental Science or related field, preferred Certified Stormwater Qualifications, preferred QCIS - Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater CESSWI - Certified Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Inspector CISEC - Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control Basic understanding of the principles, practices, and planning of stormwater management techniques including, but not limited to, erosion controls, sediment controls, and other best management practices, preferred OSHA-10 or OHSA-30 certification, preferred Must also have the following demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Ability to utilize computer software such as Google Earth, Microsoft products to include Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam (CAD), and other smartphone applications Ability to operate independently on a day-to-day basis; self-motivation is critical Strong teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Ability to read topographic maps and construction plans Effective communication, both orally and in writing Physical Requirements Ability to work in all types of weather and field conditionsAbility to travel 100% of the timeAbility to occasionally work outside of typical business hours (8am to 5pm) A valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated is a fundamental requirementLong periods of sitting Good Vision:
