GTC Collections

Summary Responsible to monitor and report upon defaults and collection processes. The GTC Collections will work with legal counsel in all four processes (collection, default, foreclosure, and property management) until the borrower cures the default or the property is sold and bondholders paid.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:

  • Monitor actions of late paying issuers;
  • Monitor cure and pay dates;
  • Gather the necessary account detail required by legal counsel to be used in default and acceleration letters;
  • Work with issuers as it relates to work-out plans;
  • Work closely with attorney s offices regarding forbearance agreements, reinstatement agreements, bankruptcies and foreclosures;
  • Order appraisals and phase-one reports prior to foreclosure;
  • Engage state-specific attorneys and realtors for foreclosed properties;
  • Manage foreclosed properties;
  • Negotiate purchase contracts by working with the title company and attorney s foreclosing on the sale of the property;
  • Prepare Board reports;
  • Update reports used by internal departments;
  • Prepare bondholder letters;
  • Monitor annual compliance requirements;
  • Respond to inquiries via phone and e-mail from bondholders, broker/dealers, brokers and attorneys.
  • Other work related duties as assigned.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet, e-mail and have a working knowledge of accounting software; and
  • Must pass credit and background screening process.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate's degree (AAS) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, required;
  • Six months to one year related experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
