Job Description
The Library Specialist II, under general supervision, assists in the process of establishing and maintaining access to electronic resources and associated records of payment and use. Vendor contact and communication, oversee accessibility reviews and exceptions for electronic resources (new and renewals), oversee annual renewal process for electronic resource invoice payments, maintain accessibility, license and payment records.
Work Performed:
+ Contact vendors to discuss: accessibility documentation for new and existing resources, payment of invoices, missing or incorrect invoices or to gather information or resolve problems.
+ Communicate with university accessibility coordinator to complete documentation for accessibility exception requests for electronic resources lacking complete accessibility for library users.
+ Process payments for library electronic resources (databases, ejournal packages, ebooks, etc.). Post payments to University Procard system, post payments to library spreadsheets and input orders, renewals and payment information in library Alma software.
+ Order individual ebook titles requested by faculty or librarians from online ebook vendors.
+ May gather database and online journal usage statistics and upload to library Alma software.
+ May supervise employees.

Necessary Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ One year of library or related experience.
+ Knowledge of (Microsoft Excel: Ability to import and export files, use functions and formulas, and create graphs or charts) and word processing (Microsoft Word) software.
+ Knowledge of email and familiarity with browsers and using browser extensions.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Physical Requirements - Ability to lift moderately heavy objects.
+ Ability to exert heavy force.

+ Ability to handle material containing dust or microscopic mold spores.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor?s Degree.
+ Experience with electronic resource acquisitions, renewal and accessibility processes.
+ Ability to use library online databases

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
