Vintage SIEL MK 610 Polyphonic Synthesizer Keyboard - Italy - 1980s RELISTED for sale in Canyon, TX
THE KEYBOARD DOES NOT WORK, but cosmetically, it is in VERY GOOD condition.I listed this keyboard in the middle of last year and it sold and shipped it to the buyer in October. Upon receipt, the buyer said the keyboard didn't work, via power supply or batteries. He asked for, and received, a refund and shipped it back to me.Before it sold, the keyboard mostly worked, including the right channel/speaker and all other functions, including the indicator LEDs. When I received it back, nothing works - it doesn't power up at all.I strongly suspect the electrolytic capacitors have died of old age, a common issue with older electronics, but I cannot actually confirm that. I am therefore relisting the keyboard as "For Parts or Not Working". Unless you are looking for a vintage electronic keyboard to repair, or need some parts, DO NOT BID.ORIGINAL LISTING DESCRIPTIONMy wife and I bought this keyboard for our youngest son in the mid-80s with the hopes he would become the next Keith Emerson. Alas, he played it a few times and turned to other (very successful) endeavors. Since that time, the keyboard has remained in its original box with original Styrofoam packing and has followed us through too many moves to count. I opened the box for the first time in more than 30 years to take the photos for this listing.Unlike most current electronic keyboard makers, Italian manufacturer Societa Industrie Elettroniche (SIEL, no longer around) produced analog keyboards. They were considered quite good in their day and many still prize them for their smooth analog sound. The MK 610 was the middle of SIEL's line and offered quite a few features: Full size keyboard, built-in drum machine, variety of instruments (piano, organ, accordion, etc.), recording, RS-232/MIDI, etc. One interesting feature is its ability to operate on batteries or external power supply.INCLUDEDSIEL MK 610 Polyphonic Electronic KeyboardOriginal Operation Manual (multilingual)Original box and packagingAn assortment of period literature from the original music dealerCONDITIONOverall, the keyboard is in VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition.Since the keyboard has been in its original box all these years, it is LIKE NEW cosmetically. The keyboard has been tested THIS SECTION IS NO LONGER ACCURATE - THE KEYBOARD DOES NOT WORKThe keyboard powers up with an external power supply (battery power was not tested). The demo song plays when selected. The built-in drum machine seems to work properly. All of the keyboard keys work properly/crisply and feel good (TO ME, that is, but I don't play piano). None are stuck or return slow. The various sliders move smoothly and do not crackle when operated. All of the functions seem to work, at least within the limited extent of my understanding about what the various functions do and how they're supposed to sound. All of the LEDs light up when the associated button/function is selected. The right speaker works properly and sounds as good as a 1980's 5" speaker can.The left speaker produces only a hum, no tones. I did not attempt to troubleshoot this. The box is in FAIR condition, with some marks, dents and tears from age, storage and shipping. The additional literature is in VERY GOOD condition.ALL PHOTOS SHOW THE ACTUAL ITEMS LISTED
